Outlines and Research Topics

I found the outlines to be a little troublesome, I didn't realize how detailed they needed to be. After finishing the second outline I realized that it will make writing the paper a lot easier, which is nice. Doing the outline forced me to get my interpretation of the primary sources out and not to stick with evidence and quotes from the sources.

I'm thinking that I would like to do my research paper on homelessness/poverty during the Great Depression and in particular, I recall reading in Buhle that during the Depression there were large numbers of run-a-way children, especially boys, whose parents pushed them out of the home because they couldn't provide food and clothing for them.

  1. sounds like your work on the outline did just what it was supposed to do - get you to digest, work and interpret the material before writing.

good topic. see what you can find in a tertiary source.
